In Utah, we use more water per capita than any other state in the nation, except Nevada. According to the Utah Department of Natural Resources, we use more than 50% of our water on our landscapes! That's a lot of water!
We can cut back our water usage by reducing the need in the landscape. This can be done by:
- reducing the size of our turf-grass lawns
- watering more efficiently - less often and in the morning and evening
- planting waterwise plants, trees and shrubs in areas of the yard that are sunny and hot
Great shot - and a great way to punctuate your story!
