Now that the
spring flowering bulbs are coming up everywhere, it's a great time to plant some pansies around them. Pansies add excellent color and cheer to the spring garden - either with the spring bulbs or on their own. They also do well in pots and containers. In Utah, pansies enjoy cool spring weather from March until the end of May. When the hot weather hits in June, replace them with heat-loving annuals like petunias, marigolds and geraniums. You can plant new pansies again in the fall and they will bloom until the first hard frost - mid to late October. Pansies like rich soil, so be sure to add some compost or manure to the soil before planting.
A great place to get pansies is
Quality Flowers and Plants located at 1046 E. 3300 South. Look for it on the South side of the street.
